Hi - I have been using TiVo with comcast for 5+ years and had been very satisfied. I previously had a Premier (bedroom) and Series 3 (hardly used, connect to a sling) running fine, and then I added a third cablecard for a Roamio Pro (living room) 20 months ago. All 3 devices working fine. Then, about 10 days ago, all three devices on the same day stopped working - specifically, I have V58 error for all channels except Broadcast, HBO2, and HBO Zone. All three boxes, same issue.
After several calls to support including the Comcast cablecard number, one rep was able to return the 2 tuner premier back to receiving all channels, but still no luck with the Roamio (I don't care about Series 3, going to scrap that anyway). I've called Comcast technical support and cablecard numbers several times to try luck with different agents hoping someone would be able to help. Big strikeout. I even tried swapping Premier (bedroom) with Roamio (living room) and trying to pair / refresh single sent, etc, but still no luck on Roamio. Premier when in living room still gets all channels and works fine. I try plugging straight from wall w/ no splitter, adding splitters, changing coaxial cable cords, etc., but absolutely no change.
I finally agreed for a technician to come a week ago, first avail apt was this morning, and the technician said he doesn't have cable cards and Comcast won't give them to him so there was nothing he can do and he left. So I then tried swapping out the 2 cable cards that were not working at a Comcast service center and they looked around back for 15 minutes and finally came back with 'the last 2' cards they had to swap out my existing ones.
Well, one card was DOA, won't recognize, but other card had all the pairing info. But again, Comcast claims they paired card correctly and all i can now see are HBO2 and HBO Zone...all other channels including broadcast don't work. V58 error - contact cable subscriber.
The HBO2 and HBO Zone working fine is perplexing to me. In a perfect world, I'd be able to get my Roamio to receive all channels and then I would scrap cable cards for my other devices, so part of me wants to try having the Premier cable card paired to the Roamio...but I'm terrified that if I do that I would lose all programming and not be able to get it back.
I would have just cut the cord now if not for being a sports enthusiast, so I'm giving it one last effort before I officially lose out on most sports programming.
Anybody have anything remotely close to this happening and/or any ideas to try? Would be comforting if someone had similar symptons and actually found a fix, but typical situation in all the forums has been specific channels or premium channels not working...not widespread all channels but 2 not working.
Thanks!
