I often get V52/v53 errors, searching for signal. Its intermitten and bounces around on channels. As a result I miss recordings. It can go several days, but it has happened consistently over the last 4 months I have been running my base Roamio (user upgraded HD).
If I am watching live I can fix the problem immediately and always by scanning the signal strength of the channel. It will bounce around and then lock in in the mid 80s. It used to be the low 80s, but I simplified the wiring in my house (only 3 jacks in use) and added an amplifier on the jack that feeds the tivo (put me in the mid 80s and made the missed recordings intermitten versus nearly constant).
I have been thinking the issue is signal strength from FIOS, as I read here I want the signal to be high 80s, low 90s. However, when I finally got around to scheduling time with them to troubleshoot they focused on card pairing issues.
Eventually I got fatigued, but in this process I noticed by toggling the "live tv" button on my remote in some instances I had a channel and in other instances I did not. I believe that toggling the live button switches tuner to tuner. Is it possible then that my problem is a bad tuner on the tivo? Is there a way to diagnose this further and or limit my recordings to a "good" tuner?
