This morning my XL4 has started displaying - intermittently but many times - a Linux login prompt instead of live video output. During this time the Tivo doesn't respond to the remote, although the amber light on the Tivo flashes with the remote button presses. After a variable period of seconds to minutes, video returns along with remote function, only to be later replaced by the black screen with the Linux login prompt.
The actual message reads:
Fedor Release 10 (Cambridge)
Kernel 2.6.27.5-117.fc10.i586 on an i686 (tty1)
Oakland login:
