Need help with shows being clipped

I have a TiVo Premiere which I believe allows you to record up to two shows at once. I'm trying to record shows that are are on the same channel. When it gets done recording one show it ends up not recording the entire episode. The ending of the show is on the next recording. So I tried extending the stop time by 1 minute. But what ends up happening now is that the beginning of the next recording on the same channel is now being clipped. Is there any way around this? What have people found to be successful in order to get these episodes recorded properly and completely? Thanks!

Browse TV & Movies Problem?

I just purchased two Roamio DVRs and think I'm experiencing a problem. I thought I could post here to make sure I understand how the Browse feature is supposed to work and to ask if anyone else is seeing similar issues.

Both DVRs are configured to use the same local OTA lineups and Amazon Prime as their sources. On both DVRs, when I go to Browse TV & Movies, I'm presented with an odd assortment of movies which almost all says "not currently available". None are in my upcoming OTA broadcast and very few are available via Prime. Additionally, movies that I know to be upcoming OTA broadcasts and movies that I know to be available via Prime are nowhere to be found in the Browse section.

I assumed that this section should be a collection of movies available to me through my OTA and streaming sources. Is that not the case? Are they instead just supposed be around 15-20 random movies from each category?

I've chatted several times with Tivo support, but I've received different answers. At one point, I was told this was definitely not normal behavior. Then the next time, I was told that it just showed select "popular" movies which may or may not be available to me. The reps have run me through a lot of different things - clear guide/todo data, rerun guided setup, totally clear device and reset. None of it has made any difference.

Attempting to browse on online.tivo.com also shows nothing but movies that aren't available to me. And the option to filter by "network" lists all cable channels even though I'm not on cable.

Finally, the last rep said that she would submit the problem; but she said it would be two weeks before they had enough data to look into it. So far, I'm not having a great experience with Tivo.

Roamio to non-roamio program grouping issue

Ever since I got my new Roamio plus, I've noticed that when I connect to one of my other TiVos (mostly Series 3 models), by default the list of programs on the other TiVo is not grouped in folders.

Yes, I can go into the options and turn grouping on. But next time I go in, they're ungrouped again.

Is there any way I can force the Roamio to default to grouped instead of ungrouped?

New TiVo OTA

New user, leaving directv. I have FIOS internet, no FIOS Tv. 2 AirPort Extremes providing wireless

Current wiring has one cable outlet for fios internet, the rest of the outlets are direct tv. Will be receiving the TiVo Ota box and 2 mini's.

Questions,

1 do I need to completely remove the direct tv feed and connect the fios internet connection so it goes to all of the outlets in the house?

2 is the fios internet, actiontec router, mocha ready? My ONT is in the garage and a coax cable is connected to the fios router

3 if fios router is already mocha. Do I need only 1 mocha adapter for the OTA DVR?

Thanks in advance

Bill

Is it the splitter, the mini or other (MoCA related)

I found that in my home the best way to get a working MoCA network without degrading my internet/wifi was to split the cable going to the modem and adapter, instead of looping the two. I had a 2-way splitter (5-1000Mhz) with one line going to my cable modem and the other going to my MoCA adapter, then both the adapter and modem connected to the router via ethernet cable. This gave me a perfectly-working MoCA network that ran my Roamio Plus and 2 minis located throughout the house (I also placed a PoE filter on the line coming into the house, if that matters).

Of course I went and screwed it up. . . the 2 way splitter wasn't enough, as there is a TV (no Tivo) in the same room as the modem/adapter, so I went and bought a 4-way (5-3000Mhz) - they didn't have a 3-way. I used one port to go to the TV, hooked up the modem and adapter the same way as before and put a 75ohm terminator on the unused port.

To my surprise, the Roamio and one mini work fine, but the other mini no longer has a network connection. I've tried all kinds of mini network settings, but it does not detect the MoCA network. I guess the most likely culprit is the 3Ghz splitter, but why would it be an issue for one mini and not the Roamio or other mini? Tonight I will put the 2-way back on to test it. The only other thing I can think of is that there is something wrong with the coax going to the problem mini. I feel like the cable box that was there before the mini would sometimes lose signal when the rest of the house was fine, but I always chalked that up to a crappy cable box. However, even if the line has a problem, it was working fine before I used the new splitter.

Thoughts?

UnoTelly and MLB.TV

I subscribe to UnoTelly to be able to watch MLB.TV for all teams with no blackouts. It works great on my Roku. However, since switching from DISH to Comcast with a TiVo front end, the MLB app on the TiVo simply doesn't work.

Last night I remembered that my router is set to use the UnoTelly DNS servers and so I switched it to use the default ISP servers and just like magic MLB.TV works on my TiVo.

I've opened a ticket on UnoTelly, but I wonder if anyone in the TiVo community has already dealt with this issue.

Use standard Roamio instead of a mini?

I just started with the Tivo service. After starting with the standard Roamio, I upgraded to the Roamio Plus. I was told during that transition that the standard had to come off the account so that the Plus could go in it's place.

After doing this, I thought it would be nice to use the standard unit in another room, instead of a mini. The rationale being that the unit cost only $20 more than a mini.....and if my Plus ever bites the dust, I have a backup Tivo to use (of course after getting cable card and tuning adapter paired back with it).

Is this possible to do? I thought I had read of others using their older Tivos on their systems after upgrading to newer units.
