Any interest in a Linux version of pyTivo Desktop?

I was just playing around in Ubuntu and most of my pyTivo Desktop code will work in Linux, but the one part that wont, at least in Ubuntu, is the tray app. They apparently made it so you can't run tray apps in Ubuntu a few versions back. So to get that part working I would need to create a new little app that would run in the dock instead perhaps with some buttons for the commands I used for the tray menus in the Win/OSX versions. I'm not sure if I want to do that if there is no interest in...
