Bolts require 2.5 hard drive or will a 3.5 work?

Do the white bolts only accept a 2.5 Hard drive, or will they accept a 3.5 Hard Drive. it looks like 2.5 is the answer, but I read some other threads and people referenced using a 3.5 hard drive.
