TivoHD hard drive upgrade failing

When I try to upgrade my failing hard drive in my TivoHD with MFSLive tools, it is failing with "Restore Failed: Backup Target not large enough for entire backup". I've done some digging and seen references in other posts to being able to only upgrade a hard drive one time. I certainly did upgrade this hard drive one other time from 120 GB to 500 GB (because it had been failing then too). I am trying to upgrade it with a 2 TB drive this time.
