XL4 Skips forward 8 seconds when play after fast forward

On my Premier XL4, if I am using the 1st level of fast forward (2x), and then hit "play", it skips forward about 8 seconds of program instead of playing from the where I hit "play". I've had the XL4 for 5 years, and this behavior started just a few weeks ago. When using the 2nd & 3rd level of fast forward (10x & 60x), it behaves as it always has - it backs up a few seconds from where I hit "play".
