I took advantage of the recent TiVo promotion and purchased two new TiVo Bolts and transferred lifetime service from my two TiVoHDs to the bolts via the recent $99 dollar offer.

What capabilities and/or value will my TiVoHDs have after they are deactivated by TiVo and cable cards removed? Is it anything besides a poorly designed door stop?

1. Will I still be able to watch the recorded programs that are on it?
2. Will I be able to transfer non-copy protected programs to my PC?...

I'm sure I'm just missing something obvious but I can't figure out for the life of me how to watch shows that I've recorded through online.tivo.com. I'm using a Tivo Roamio Pro and have it setup to stream to the iPhone and iPad apps with no problem. But when I view the shows on online.tivo.com I don't see any sort of "play" or "watch" button.

Is there a reason I'd be able to watch on the apps but not through a browser? If it seems like I'm missing something that should be easy, maybe...

The production values are great. The selection of magicians that they are showcasing are first rate.

Apologies if this question has been answered elsewhere. I've found some general discussions that touched on the topic of heat. Several have reported ODT on their Bolts around 60 +/-. However, I installed a Bolt+ last week and ODT is measuring 68-71 on an open shelf. Low 60's in standby mode. Any thoughts on whether I should be concerned about this?

Recently, our Mini started repeatedly losing connection to our Roamio. Usually when watching live TV, (but sometimes during streaming a recording), it will fail with 'Lost Connection - V87'. This sometimes corresponds to a 'C133 - Temporary Service Connection failure' error on the main menu. When this happens, simply hitting 'OK' and going back to Live TV works.

This happens as often as every 30 seconds or so, which makes it pretty unusable. But streaming Netflix, etc. works fine.

I received my Tivo mini yesterday and wanted to share my experience setting it up (as the internet is fairly void of this information).

I have it running quite well using a wireless bridge, however I wouldn't recommend it for most folks. Wireless is a fickle technology, and not something you want to depend on for a high speed constant connection if you can avoid it.

My new bolts remote frequently has long delays as well as frequent double presses after a single button press. I haven't wall-mounted my bolt yet i don't know if that has a chance of improving problem. Im wall mounting Bolt so I can keep the lid off and keep my bolt silent. This morning I noticed that our Premiere XL only had the orange/yellow light on the front panel on.

I turned on the TV and the screen was black and the TV was reporting the resolution repeatedly, like it was losing HDMI sync. I power cycled the TiVo and it's working now.

I have a TiVo HD with lifetime service, and no hardware upgrades. It still has the stock 160 GB hard drive, and after ~9 years of service, it's finally giving up. Live PD - Anybody watch this?

A coworker told me about this show. It is essentially like Cops but is aired live on Friday and Saturday nights on A&E. The show usually follows about 4-5 different police departments live and they bounce around between departments/officers where there is something interesting going on.

It's totally watching a train-wreck. One thing is for sure, I will never go to that one county in South Carolina where every week there is always all sorts of crazy stuff going down.

I have a TiVo Premiere that is acting funny. It's not one I watch frequently, so I only have limited experience with it. Here's what happened:

Two new apps popped up on the Roamio OTA. Ameba kids TV and Tubi TV.
I have no use for the kids app, but Tubi TV actually has some decent content.

For someone without cable and only a handful of OTA channels this is a pretty good addition to the TiVo. It's free (supported by ads), but you are required to create an account to watch R rated movies. That only involves giving them an email address and birth date (doesn't necessarily have to be real).

Just bought a 500GB Bolt w/ Lifetime (TiVo "Whiteout" event, $450 total) to replace my Premiere Elite. Planning to replace the 500GB HD with a larger (2-3 GB) one prior to putting the unit in service.

My new Bolt (1TB) is delightful AND I was extra delighted to find I could just copy all the shows I had saved on my old Premier Elite using Tivo Online interface. Netgear NAS and Bolt

Folks,

I have an XL4, Bolt, and just added a Netgear NAS 10400 that supports DLNA

-Communication between the XL4 and NAS works great - archived everything to NAS and able to see the NAS device from the XL4 for access to those video files.

The NAS is able to see the Bolt and archive video files from the Bolt, but the Bolt does not show the NAS in its list of devices.

I was told there is a major issue with 20.7.1 and numerous folks have called in stating that some time after the update when the Bolt reboots, they lose HDMI.
Some lose signal entirely, some lose sound, some have a very poor picture/sound afterwards. I still get picture if I let my TV sit for almost a minute when I switch HDMI ports to the Bolt. Seems like it could be an HDMI handshake issue. I tried a Panasonic and Samsung TV.

I've had issues the last few months when streaming content out of the home - shows will start, and then maybe 5 minutes in, it will skip back a few minutes. Then it might play for another 10 minutes, then skip back to an earlier part in the program. Anyone else having these issues, or know what it might be?

No picture or sound on Roamio OTA

I came home from a few weeks out of town and there was no picture or sound from the OTA. A quick glance at the receiver and there was no sync'd HDMI signal on the input.

We have a Tivo Mini, and from that I can see that everything else about the OTA seems to be ok. Recordings are being made, we can watch shows & delete them, etc. Ultimately, the OTA is still online and working - it just doesn't seem to be anything out on the HDMI port.

I'm sure I'm just missing something obvious but I can't figure out for the life of me how to watch shows that I've recorded through online.tivo.com. I'm using a Tivo Roamio Pro and have it setup to stream to the iPhone and iPad apps with no problem. But when I view the shows on online.tivo.com I don't see any sort of "play" or "watch" button.

Is there a reason I'd be able to watch on the apps but not through a browser? If it seems like I'm missing something that should be easy, maybe...

New Tubi TV app has pretty good free content.

Two new apps popped up on the Roamio OTA. Ameba kids TV and Tubi TV.
I have no use for the kids app, but Tubi TV actually has some decent content.

For someone without cable and only a handful of OTA channels this is a pretty good addition to the TiVo. It's free (supported by ads), but you are required to create an account to watch R rated movies. That only involves giving them an email address and birth date (doesn't necessarily have to be real).

I have an XL4, Bolt, and just added a Netgear NAS 10400 that supports DLNA

-Communication between the XL4 and NAS works great - archived everything to NAS and able to see the NAS device from the XL4 for access to those video files.

The NAS is able to see the Bolt and archive video files from the Bolt, but the Bolt does not show the NAS in its list of devices.

I have checked the DVR preferences on Tivo.com and both the XL4 and Bolt have video sharing and downloads enable....

Please fix your completely broken implementation of Hulu on your Roamio boxes. It's a horrible experience. The content continuously stops and stutters even though the network is fine. I can watch Hulu on iPad, and Win10 laptop with no issues while the Roamio continuously pauses content with "loading". It's a joke!!!

There's nothing wrong with the network. It's either your garbage code or your hardware is way under powered. As other streams seem to work just fine I'm guessing...

Need image file for TiVo Series 3 HD

The hard drive on my old TiVo Series 3 HD has failed completely. It was running for years with a 1TB hard drive which no longer works at all. I have purchased a new 1TB hard drive but don't have the image for this drive to be able to use it I'm my old, formally reliable, TiVo (btw, it has lifetime service).

I also have a TiVo Roamio which will format a blank drive with no additional software needed but this format won't work in the old series 3.

Tivo Series 3 - Bad capacitors in power supply

Word of warning... It appears that Tivo has used a power supply in the Series 3 units that has bad capacitors. My series 3 went down last week and being well out of warranty (I jumped on the Series 3 upgrade promotion) I opened the case. The first obvious issue was the Capxon (known bad capacitor vendor) brand capacitor bulging and starting to leak.

I wonder how many other Series 3 units are experiencing this problem.

I was watching Jeopardy the other night and noticed that Alex Trebek before asking a contestant to pick a question he looked down and to his left. Then I noticed this a second time. I figured he was looking for an indication of which contestant should ask the next question, but wasn't aware of an indicator.

Remote delays and double presses

My new bolts remote frequently has long delays as well as frequent double presses after a single button press. I haven't wall-mounted my bolt yet i don't know if that has a chance of improving problem. Im wall mounting Bolt so I can keep the lid off and keep my bolt silent. Is there other troubleshooting I can do?

Roamio OTA with Hulu is garbage

Dearest TiVo,
Please fix your completely broken implementation of Hulu on your Roamio boxes. It's a horrible experience. The content continuously stops and stutters even though the network is fine. I can watch Hulu on iPad, and Win10 laptop with no issues while the Roamio continuously pauses content with "loading". It's a joke!!!

There's nothing wrong with the network. It's either your garbage code or your hardware is way under powered. As other streams seem to work just fine I'm guessing...

I'm sure I'm just missing something obvious but I can't figure out for the life of me how to watch shows that I've recorded through online.tivo.com. I'm using a Tivo Roamio Pro and have it setup to stream to the iPhone and iPad apps with no problem. But when I view the shows on online.tivo.com I don't see any sort of "play" or "watch" button.

Is there a reason I'd be able to watch on the apps but not through a browser? If it seems like I'm missing something that should be easy, maybe...

Apparently 20.7.1 has major HDMI issues

I was told there is a major issue with 20.7.1 and numerous folks have called in stating that some time after the update when the Bolt reboots, they lose HDMI.
Some lose signal entirely, some lose sound, some have a very poor picture/sound afterwards. I still get picture if I let my TV sit for almost a minute when I switch HDMI ports to the Bolt. Seems like it could be an HDMI handshake issue. I tried a Panasonic and Samsung TV.

My new bolts remote frequently has long delays as well as frequent double presses after a single button press. I haven't wall-mounted my bolt yet i don't know if that has a chance of improving problem. Im wall mounting Bolt so I can keep the lid off and keep my bolt silent. Cable Signal Cuts Out Every Couple Minutes

I am having an issue that just about has me at my wits end.

My TiVo Roamio Pro had worked great for about a year. We then moved to a matrix setup and this new issue started, however the wiring for my TiVo has not changed.

About every 1:45 the cable signal is lost about 5 seconds later it comes back. If I am in diagnostics I can see it cut out on all tuners. At certain times I can go several hours before it cuts out, but when it does it it does it over and over.

Sorry to bother, but my Premiere XL (TCD748000) died yesterday (I think from power outage...it is stuck on "Welcome...starting up" and makes a loud noise). So, we purchased a new Tivo Roamio Plus from Best Buy 3 years ago. The hard drive has been making weird noises this week, so we unplugged it, and let it sit overnight.

Now when it's plugged in, the Startup Menu is stuck and won't advance.

This is a model TCD 848000.

We have the lifetime service agreement, so we're loathe to just buy another one. When this happened with our Series One years ago, we went to Fry's and bought a new HDD and installed it ourselves.

I got a notice today that my Roamio Pro hasn't been able to get data for 30 days, and when I check the status screen it says Failed..S03 error. I'm given to understand this means the channel guide database is corrupt, and new data won't load.

It connects fine, downloads the data OK, takes a looooong time to load (I gave up watching after an hour at 40%), but in the end it fails with the S03 error.

I've read suggestions for other models , including KickStart 57, deleting the guide data and...

The remote is paired to my Roamio and will work in RF mode for a little while after I hold the TiVo button + D but then it will switch back to IR mode and then back and forth every few seconds or minutes.

ok so... I rebuilt a Series 3 with a 1 tb hard drive (thanks to the amazing information in this forum!) about 5 months or so ago. Yesterday I got a boot loop- Almost there... and then back to Powering up. Switched over to the backup S3 (tiny hard drive) and ran the SMART scan overnight (big hard drive) and now it is powering up just fine. No clicks from the HD- all seems fine. Dearest TiVo,
Please fix your completely broken implementation of Hulu on your Roamio boxes. It's a horrible experience. The content continuously stops and stutters even though the network is fine. I can watch Hulu on iPad, and Win10 laptop with no issues while the Roamio continuously pauses content with "loading". It's a joke!!!

There's nothing wrong with the network. It's either your garbage code or your hardware is way under powered. As other streams seem to work just fine I'm guessing...

Netgear NAS and Bolt

Folks,

I have an XL4, Bolt, and just added a Netgear NAS 10400 that supports DLNA

-Communication between the XL4 and NAS works great - archived everything to NAS and able to see the NAS device from the XL4 for access to those video files.

The NAS is able to see the Bolt and archive video files from the Bolt, but the Bolt does not show the NAS in its list of devices.

I have checked the DVR preferences on Tivo.com and both the XL4 and Bolt have video sharing and downloads enable....

Help! Need a clean TCD746320 image.

I'd like to try a clean image on my Premiere because I feel there is corruption on my HD. It continues to have issues.

I've done a pretty indepth HD test, and nothing is wrong with it and I continue to have issues.

Figured I'd try a clean image.

I'm sure I'm just missing something obvious but I can't figure out for the life of me how to watch shows that I've recorded through online.tivo.com. I'm using a Tivo Roamio Pro and have it setup to stream to the iPhone and iPad apps with no problem. But when I view the shows on online.tivo.com I don't see any sort of "play" or "watch" button.

Is there a reason I'd be able to watch on the apps but not through a browser? If it seems like I'm missing something that should be easy, maybe...

I recently purchased a Tivo Bolt from the company that worked fine for streaming to my iphone and ipad. A/V Dropouts & pixelation with certain channels

Cable provider is Fios & I am using a Roamio. On certain (but not all) channels, I am receiving audio/video drop outs & pixelation. The signal strength for these channels is in the high 80's (last time I checked 87) so I don't know what the issue can be. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
