Amazon Prime, Streaming vs. Download and Roamio

I've read here in multiple places that Amazon Prime streaming isn't available on TiVos but Amazon download is. Can someone please clarify? When I watch something from Amazon, or Netflix for that matter aren't I streaming? Its just Amazon Prime that isn't available at all, right? But Amazon is?
