I just received my new Roamio (standard model for use with my HD antenna). I am replacing my old HD model which recently started randomly rebooting. I also wanted the Roamio to get access to streaming Amazon Prime.
I am hooking up to my home network via wireless, which apparently is a real problem for the Roamio. After reading several suggestions online, I was able to get it to initially set up by using a wired connection from another room. Now it is in place and working via wifi, except when I try to stream Netflix it begins the program but then after 1-2 minutes, it stops and buffers up to 25%, where it hangs and then tells me there are network problems. The wifi connection is strong (90%-100% reported) and the Netflix server check comes through just fine. As soon as I switch back to a wired connection (in the other room) it works perfectly. Another symptom of my problem is that my entire wifi network actually goes offline if I leave Netflix attempting to load. Amazon Prime does the same thing. The old HD with the USB wifi adapter had no problems connecting and streaming Netflix.
I am using a DLINK DIR-655 router and I have updated the settings to what I have found via online research: Uncheck "multicast streams" and uncheck "enable DNS relays". Still having the problem.
Can anyone point me in the right direction here? I am concerned if I call TiVo support I'll be told to start at the beginning with "restart your modem and router", etc.
