Suggestions: Tivo Mini or another Cable Card

Hey Tivo Community. I'd like to solicit guidance from the experts.





A couple years back i picked up a 2 tuner premier at a good price. I'm still happy with the box and it's fully paid itself off thanks to my lifetime sub. I am however still getting juiced by verizon for the 5 dollar cable card monthly fee.





Today i'm just using one TV, but we're getting a 2nd set in the house.



Seeing the 10 year deal on the Roamio and i couldn't resist pulling the trigger. My Roamio plus will arrive next week.



Now here is my dilemma. I love my premier, but with 6 tuners, the Roamio will be plenty for the household. I hate paying an extra 5 buck a mont if i don't have to.





So here are my options:

1)Keep two seperate DVRs and pay 10 bucks a month to verizon

2) buy a tivo mini for the 2nd room and park/sell the premier



Option 2 will break even in two years, but i gues the questions are:

1) how do people like their mini's?

2) Can a premier without a cable card work like a mini? Including watching one of the 6 tuners on the Roamio?



Any other suggestions?
