So, Dish is phasing out their old receivers. I had to upgrade and they sent me a 311 receiver. This has a default inactivity mode.
This thread discusses the problem, but the solution doesn't work and since this was discussed in 2006 I figure Dish has made changes since then.

6 is "System Setup" 1 is "Installation" and 2 is now "Caller ID". The other options on the page 1 takes you to are of no help. I tried them.
Has there been a new solution to this problem? Because this pretty much makes my TiVo service unuseable.
