Bear with me, this is kind of a long story.
The other night I was streaming a YouTube 4K video directly to my Sony XBR850B from my tablet using the Sony's native YouTube app and speakers. My Premiere XL runs through an A/V receiver and surround sound speakers.
When I was finished watching the video I was unable to return to the content from Tivo. No matter what button on the Sony remote I pushed - Options, Home, Return - the stopped YouTube video would not go away.
I initially thought that it was a problem with the Sony and native YouTube app. So I did a factory reset of the Sony, but when it was all done, the YouTube video was still there.
Then a light went off. When I changed the TV's input the You Tube app was gone. So if it was truly the native YouTube app that was the problem it should show up no matter what input was selected. Then I changed the A/V receiver's input to DVD and the DVD player came up on screen. Finally I realized that even if the YouTube app was active on the TV I should still be able to hear the audio from Tivo, but I didn't.
So I restarted the Tivo and everything was good again.
I really can't figure out how this happened. My guess is that the TV's native YouTube app and the Tivo's YouTube app somehow got crossed up but I don't know how in the world that's even possible.
Anyway, if you made it this far, thanks for reading. I just wanted to share this odd experience and if anyone has an insight as to how this happened I'd love to hear it.
