Today I have started to get HTML5 Video ads here on the forum.
I have been getting some for Ashley Home Furniture Store and Progressive Auto Insurance.
Nothing like a video where you have to see and listen to flo.
Not only is it annoying and makes me jump when the ads start playing at full volume when you weren't expecting it, but it's a concern for me over bandwidth.
I only 10 GB a month on my Hughes Net Satellite Internet Service then the bandwidth I have though my ATT Hot Spot. Video ads just eat up way to much bandwidth. My guess in the order of 5 MB or so for the ones I saw here today.
The ads play in the banner window frame, but some can be expanded to be full screen video.
Is this a new type of advertising we should come to expect here?
Edit: Just had 2 different HTML5 video ads load at the same time. One on the top side banner area, and one on the top banner area.
Both played audio at the same time over each other and it was quit obnoxious.
