TiVo is suing Samsung for patent infringement claiming that Samsung made set top boxes infringe on TiVo's time warp patent. In addition TiVo claims that Samsung's mobile phones also infringe on TiVo's DVR patents because they are designed to store and playback video. That's a big change from previous suits which were for DVRs and set-top boxes.
Another interesting in the filing is that TiVo has received $1.6 billion in royalty payments over they years.
