I've been having some problems ever since I upgraded to a Bolt. I upgraded a couple months ago, and once I got the cablecard paired correctly with the new device, everything seemed to work fine at first. But then probably about a month ago I started having trouble with a number of my channels. I would get V58 and V53 errors ("This channel is not available" or "Signal lost"), as well as an occasional 161-17 "Cablecard error." Went back and forth with Tivo Support a bit, and they said it was probably the cablecard, but also that my SNR was a little high (it hovers around 37/38 dB normally). So their main thing was, get the cablecard replaced, and also check on reducing the dB with an attenuator.
I've since had the cablecard replaced (after A LOT of cajoling with Verizon), and am currently waiting for a 6dB attenuator to arrive I purchased from Amazon. Changing the cablecard alone has not fixed the problem though. Still getting the V58 errors, and even when I don't, I notice that when I tune to certain channels, the screen often lags and stays black for quite awhile before the picture and sound comes on (if it comes on). Also, I've tried checking the signal strength, and it seems to go straight down to 0 every time I check it.
Just wondering, does this sound like the kind of problem an attenuator could fix? My issue isn't pixellation or poor picture quality, it's loss of signal entirely. Seems to be particularly bad with certain channels [USA, FX & FXX, and SYFY, in particular that I've noticed (all of which I get)]. I've checked for loose wires/connections, but can't seem to find any. Anyone have any thoughts on this, or similar experiences?
