using a Roamio without internet

I am going to attempt to use a Roamio in a hospital room that does not have internet access or an antenna signal (it was used OTA at home). My plan was to bring in recordings from a different Tivo transferred each day to a laptop with Tivo desktop, connecting both to a router with cables.

During setup today Tivo Desktop successfully found the Roamio, but I didn't have time to attempt a transfer in the other direction. Will the roamio find the laptop and pull recordings from it or will it refuse transfers without internet access?

Edit - both Tivo's are on the same account.
