Watch Tv while recording?

I just had a simple question to get answered before I make a purchase, I am looking at upgrading to a TiVo Roamio Pro DVR from my cable box and I just like to know if it's possible to record shows while also watching live tv? Since it can do up to six, does that mean it can record five shows at a time while watching tv? I can currently do this with my mediacom issued cable box, but I'm only able to record one thing and watch tv at the same time.
