I have had numerous TiVos over the years. Series 2, Series 3 and currently some Premieres (2 & 4-tuners). Thanks to this forum, I was able to easily fix a Series 3 reboot problem last year. It turned out to be the hard drive.
With a Series 3 image I got from here along with WinMFS and an XP based PC I have, I was able to restore the image on to a 500GB hard drive. I put it in the Series 3 and it booted up fine. Its still working great.
My premieres are all still working great, but since some of them are lifetime units, I was thinking I might want to make backup images of their hard drives now and before something goes wrong. This way, I can then maybe restore (or even upgrade) their hard drives if needed in the future.
Can the premiere hard drives be easily backed up the way Series 3 drives can with WinMFS? If so, what is the software and the info for the method used? also, Is there maybe a place where i can just download a drive image instead that can be used with a premiere?
Finally can a 2-tuner Premiere image also be used for a 4-tuner premiere? Or is it like the Series 3 and has to more or less be tied to the model specifically?
