I recently had Comcast out to my house to try and solve a cable card pairing issue with a Series 3 (another RANT). Anyway, the tech was telling me that they have been having all kinds of problems pairing cable cards with the newer TiVos (assuming he meant Roamio).
He said he just got done trying to pair a cable card for a woman and was unsuccessful. She wound up having to just return the TiVo. He "claims" he doesn't do cable cards that much anymore & people in our area (Atlanta) are just going with the Comcast X1 platform instead.
Is there any truth to this? Is there a Roamio/Comcast cable card issue going on here? If so, any plans to have it fixed (from maybe TiVo)? I was thinking of getting one, but if I have to put up with headaches, I just assume get another TiVo mini and connect it to my current 4-tuner premiere. Things are working great for me with this setup.
