Introduction And New TiVo Roamio Vs. Used TiVo Premiere

I am brand new to this forum, so I just wanted to introduce myself and them ask some questions. I am a current DISH 722K user. I was all set to cut the cord in April 2014, but my wife loves the Dallas mini series. DISH cut my rate in half for one year, so I am taking time to see what my best choices are today.

We are also NetFlix users, so between that and Over The Air (OTA), DISH content is really no longer necessary for us. My wife, however, records a soap opera daily from CBS through OTA signal, which is why I joined this forum.

Someone on another forum suggested either a new TiVo Roamio or a used TiVo Premiere with Lifetime Service. I am still trying to find out the pluses and minuses of new vs. used. Certainly there is the issue of the warranty on a new device. With regards to features, what are some of the biggest differences between the new Roamio and the older Premiere?

Also, with regards to the cost of Lifetime Service. I see that some people have been able to get a $99 deal for Lifetime Service. Is that a Black Friday deal, a longtime customer deal, or something else?

Finally, the issue of streaming comes to mind. I have a legacy Slingbox PRO HD and a DISH Sling Adapter. Both fulfill by needs pretty well currently. Would the Slingbox PRO HD work pretty well with a TiVo Roamio or TiVo Premiere? Also, is there some means to stream natively on certain TiVos? If so, how does that compare to Slingbox?

My family and I currently have mainly Android phones and a couple of Android tablets, so any thoughts of steaming would be with those devices in mind. Also, with my Slingbox and DISH adapter, I can watch on a PC remotely. Is that also an option with any sort of TiVo streaming device(s)?
