Happy New Year all - I have been digging and digging through all the posts but keep getting stuck trying to find my scenario - although so I am sure it is out here somewhere - so apologies in advance:
I have a TCD746320 with lifetime that has a bad drive - won't boot and fails the wd diags -
I happen to have another TCD746320 in the house with lifetime and a 1TB esata mydvr expander attached which is working fine with the latest OS.
I pulled the internal 320 from the working TCD746320 and did a full backup to my laptop using a usb 2 /sata adapter with dvrbars and the backup completed with no issues.
I got a new WD30EZRX with a mid-late 2014 manufacture date dirt cheap.
I did the full restore using dvrbars to the new WD30EZRX and it completed with no issues.
That is where I am now - I know I am going to have to expand and supersize - but should I drop the WD30EZRX back in the tivo and unmarry the mydvr expander first before i try the expand and supersize? Also know I am gonna have to do a clear all settings...
And do I have to do anything else to get the full 3TB available? Thanks in advance and sorry if this is a repeat ...
