We are having trouble getting either of our TiVo Minis to work with older TVs that have only coax and RCA inputs.
We have a total of nine TVs in our house and garage of which three have HDMI inputs. The other five old SDs are occasional use only (two Sharp, three Toshiba and an ancient 1984 Sony). We now have two Minis that work great via HDMI with the HDMI TVs (three of the eight), but I cant get the Minis to work with the other TVs using the A/V output and the TiVo A/V breakout cable I bought from Weaknees via Amazon.
Funny thing is that both Minis work fine via the A/V cable with the HDMI TVs when connected to the composite jack but they wont work with the older, non-HDMI sets when connected the same way. What I get is a weird, scrolling image as I attempted to capture in the accompanying photos. All of the SD TVs work fine with other RCA A/V output devices like VHS machines, DVD players and TiVo Series 2s. The minis are set up for 480i output.
This one has me baffled. Any ideas about a remedy?
