Tivo Roamio Pro Remote - old Tivo models work?

Being frugal (read cheap) I want to get a Tivo remote on eBay for my new Tivo Roamio Pro. We want his and her remotes.



Has anyone tried an older Tivo remote as a second remote on a Pro?



Has anyone tried the DirectTV remote on the pro?



Retired and saving money if possible,
