I have a series 3 that I replaced the original hard drive with a WD AV-GP 2TB about 18 months ago. Normally, the drive is silent, but periodically the drive activity becomes audible up to 10 feet away (in a silent room, and i have good hearing) and sometimes rhythmic for hours at a time. Based on my past experience with hard drives in general, it sounds like a normal hard drive should sound, except for the fact these drives are supposed to be silent. The frequency of these occurrences has increased over time, and now it seems I can hear it on a daily basis. I have no problems watching or recording programs other than periodic OTA reception issues on certain channels. Is this something to be concerned about?
