We have a new Roamio issue that just started this week on Comcast in the Chicago suburbs. Evening news One Passes on local network affiliates CBS and ABC haven't been recording. CBS hasn't been recording since Monday and today ABC didn't record. History says "Not Recorded: No Signal". When I tune to the channels live later in the evening they seem to be coming in fine.
7/4 Monday CBS channel 189 one pass failed to record 4/5 times this week
7/8 Friday ABC channel 187 failed recording today
We haven't had issues recording cable channels or later evening prime time network shows yet.
We also have an older Tivo Premiere and that was able to successfully record the same CBS program that failed to record on Roamio.
I did found a couple other posts which sound like possibly related issues:
Some channels won't appear on some tuners intermittently
None of my minis will tune in channel that comes in fine on roamio
It sounds like Comcast may be in the process of changing their signal encoding, copy protection flags or some other settings in a way that the Roamio doesn't like, even though the Premiere seems to be ok.
Just now around 11pm, I took at look at the Diagnostics on the two channels 187 and 189 and both were showing 99-100% signal strength, 40dB SNR as were all other tuners. Diagnostics list both channels as MPEG2. The live programs were coming in fine, though CBS 189 took a longer than usual time for the picture to come in.
It sounds like Comcast and Tivo may already be aware of the issue, but I wanted to add the details of my case here for reference. Anyone else seeing these issues with Comcast and Roamio recordings lately (aside from the links noted above)?
