Can anyone help a noob understand streaming options with TIVO?

I'm kind of embarrassed to admit that I know virtually nothing about how to use my TIVO with the abundance of streaming options that are available nowadays. I've been begrudgingly paying my ever increasing Comcast bill because it is easy, and allows me access to all of my beloved shows and works with my TIVO. So as all of these new streaming services pop up I just bury my head further in the sand and ignore them.
