Looking for help identifying problem with Series 3 HD

Hi

I have read through many of the old threads and received some great info, but still confused on a couple of items... hoping that someone can provide some guidance...

I have an old Series 3 HD that I am trying to resurrect - It was working fine a year ago but will no longer boot up - I am really resurrecting it, just so that I can watch the previously recorded programs that I already have on the drive.
