Hi there,
Yesterday we had a power failure at which point my Tivo (TCD652160) died. I've had many Tivo's die and it's always been due to HDD failure.
So I bought a new drive from Amazon - The WD WD10EURX. I got the drive this morning, ran WinMFS and restored the image 652m.tbk found here:
http://ift.tt/1oy0nQg
When I ran WinMFS I set the cache size to 500mb (it's a 1TB HDD). After I restored the image WinMFS asked me if I wanted to expand the drive, to which I said yes.
I installed the drive into my Tivo (TCD652160) and everything seemed fine -- it went through setup and all appeared well. That is until I tried to record a show. When I try to record a show, I get the prompt asking if I want to record, I say 'yes' but the show doesn't record.
I got a message (in the messages section) saying there was a hardware failure and I needed to restart for it to allow recording. I restarted and I still have the same problem.
I am running the Kickstart 54 diagnostics now and so far everything seems ok (it's in the middle of the extended tests).
Did I do something wrong in WinMFS which is causing this problem? I searched the forums but couldn't find anything. Thanks SO much for your help!
Thanks!
Robert.
