After a year of living with the DirecTV Genie, I finally had enough and switched to a Roamio Pro and Mini. It took 3 weeks to get a working CableCard from Comcast, but as of a week ago today, it was all working... or so I thought.
We don't watch a lot of TV in my home, but we are very passionate about the shows that we do follow. Game of Thrones is currently at the top of that list. Last night, my wife and I were re-watching the previous episode on HBO2 which was airing immediately before the new episode on HBO1. We were able to watch the episode on HBO2 without problem, but as soon as it ended and I tuned to HBO1, I was presented with the "Channel Not Available" banner. I was able to go back to HBO2 fine, but only HBO1 was having this issue. I then rebooted the box and when it came back up, the channel was still not available. I tried again about 10 minutes later, and it was working again.
My wife was very unhappy with the situation. At first she wanted me to return it all on the spot, but I'm hoping I will be able to figure out what happened and fix the issue instead. I really like the Tivo hardware, and don't want to have to go through the trouble of returning the equipment and canceling another TV service. Can anyone offer any insight?
