I have four Tivo units in my home.
One is a new Roamio model
Two are Premier models.
One is a unit that predates the Premier model.
All four models have multi-stream cards in them. I am on Verizon Fios.
Everything had been working fine up until about two weeks ago when HBO stopped working completely.
Basically, I get a blank screen with a message "not authorized (V58)"
Have made multiple calls to Verizon about the problem. They reset my cards over the phone. Rebooted the boxes (which I find hard to believe they claimed they can do that to a Tivo) -- nothing worked.
Then they claimed it was perhaps a neighborhood outage, which is complete bunk considering the last thing my Tivo recorded off HBO was two weeks ago. That outage is two weeks old.
The problem is still being handled by Verizon. Techs are supposedly working on issues behind the scene. It has been suggested that perhaps I should have new unit to card pairings done. However....
I subscribe to Showtime. All my other channels including Showtime are working fine. I don't think there are any card issues here.
I keep hearing that HBO may have changed their encryption code which might be offsetting these cards.
Another huge problem is that Verizon Fios doesn't support Tivo boxes. In other words, they may attempt to help me to a point and then claim that since I own a Tivo, it is out of their hands.
Would certainly love to hear if there are any similar problems and what solutions I might seek.
