I'm guessing that this show won't make another season; just due to lack of activity here. Wife and I are currently binge'ng on it to get caught up. We were original Dallas fans, stayed home on Friday nights to watch.
This new series has a few short comings, most based on the writing. I'm really big on consistency from week to week. You can't have gravity one week and then the next magically be able to fly. In one of the recent episodes they have security everywhere at South Fork and then later two different guys sneak onto the ranch and no security anywhere.
This season has way, way too much Linda Gray. Yeah we get she is an alcoholic so get her off the screen.
Ideas to take over the world last about 10 minutes and then the other side (Bobby or Christopher or drug lord or whatever) shows their counter move so we pick a new plan. I might be mistaken but in the original series the plans lasted a few episodes not a few minutes.
The women are a fickle bunch. Both of the young leads are angels one episode and then villains the next. Can't we go a whole season with one or the other?
Limited characters. 99% of the camera is on the main 6 characters. The original series had many more characters and stories that involved them.
I like the actors, they all do great. But terrible writing can only go so long.
