I recently purchased my first Mini, which I have paired with my Premiere Elite. While I decide whether I like it well enough to sell my second Premiere I have the Mini set up side-by-side with my second Premiere. However, I find that I am forced to cover up the front panel of one of the units to prevent each remote command from being read by both units.
IIRC, the older remote controls used to have a 1/2 switch for this purpose. I have tried using the <Pause> + TiVo command to change the remote address on both the Mini and the Premiere, but it does not prevent the issue from recurring, even when the two systems show a different address number on the System Information screen. Either I am doing something wrong or the remote address feature is designed to differentiate between TiVo units on two different accounts.
I tried asking TiVo Support, but they just directed me to the remote address feature. Does anyone have a more elegant solution than covering up the front panel?
