MoCA Filter

I thought lightning got my cable modem the other night. Bought a new one, but Comcast couldn't activate it. Moved the cable from the splitter/amplifier and plugged it directly into the cable modem. Voila, they were able to activate it.

So I did some troubleshooting and found that it wasn't the splitter/amplifier but instead the MoCA filter I bought from TiVo. Without the PoE filter, I was getting -3 signals but with it installed I was getting -18 to -20 with dropouts in signal to the modem.

For now I have the PoE filter off. Was about to order a new one, but just curious if there are any differences in brands. Not sure if some brands are better at letting more signal pass into the home, less out of the home, etc.
