New Roamio with TWC: Bad Card or TA or both?

Hi all-

After a 2.5 year DTV hiatus I'm back to the cable game and picked up a Tivo Roamio Plus. That arrived today and I have a cable card and Tuning Adapter ready to go. The evening went like so:

1) TWC basic support was unable to activate my cable card. Didn't even ask for a Host ID.

2) Ended up at the national cable card desk, got all of my info, but the Cablecard (a SciAtlanta Multi) would not show that it had been authorized. I left that call with him suggesting I stop by a store and swap my TWC.

3) After dinner, I checked on it again and the cable card was authorized (according to the CC diag menus). However, I was not able to actually tune any channels. Every channel shows up as blank with a "check the signal" message.

4) Thinking maybe I needed the tuning adapter involved to provide a channel map and solve my problems, I hooked it up. I called the cable card desk again and had them authorize it. It is no longer doing the disconnection blinks so it appears to have received its auth signal. Still, unable to tune anything.

5) Phone rep thought maybe the tuning adapter is dead because he's not able to get a response back from it.

Before today's events, I was on internet only for TWC. I do not THINK there is a filter/trap installed on the line as I am able to hook the line up to my TV directly and tune lots of channels.

So, do you guys suggest I swap both the CC & TA at this point? Only one? Is there anything that might be malfunctioning on the Tivo itself? Several years ago in my TivoHD days, I know I had to try multiple cable cards back then. But that was when they were still trying to pawn off single stream cards.

Thanks for any help!
