I was uncertain whether to post here or the HELP forum. Hope this is the proper one.
FWIW, had a Tivo about 10 years ago (still have it in a closet somewhere).
I was just given a Tivo 3 with, I'm told, Lifetime service. I'm also told I need to get a cablecard for my area.
I have almost no knowledge of it, so , after 3 days of trying google, a few questions.
What is a cablecard and does Tivo require one?
One of my TVs is connected only to an over-the-air HD antenna, the other to OTA and Directv.
Do I use Tivo WITH Directv or INSTEAD of?
Can I hook up from TV out to Tivo in and record from TV (e.g., old VCRs)?
The unit came with a wifi adapter. I have an ethernet cable I can plug in to Tivo. Do I need the adapter?
