TV can't recognize New Tivo Roamio

My series 2 Tivo is on its way out I am told. It keeps freezing while watching TV. So, I ordered the Roamio at Amazon...got it, loved the easy set up...and then the TV would not find it...All inputs kept saying that there is no signal and to check that the external device is plugged in. I tried everything...switching cables, even bought a new hdmi cable to see if it was that...same issue...removed the splitter and everything else, so it was just the new device and the tv and wi-fi...nothing. I called Tivo and the guy seemed uncertain. When he found out that I bought it a Amazon, he said, I should call them and return it as it's probably faulty.



Any idea what I am missing...the TV is only 2 years old...HD Plasma, and everything else works on it...It can find the DVD player, the regular cable when hooked up, the old Tivo, and also chromecast...just can't find the new TIVO. :(



Please advise before I send back the new Tivo...thanks.
