FYI Moce can be your entire home wired network option

I thought this was interesting.

Something I never considered or realized.

I use MOCA adaptors for my tivo roamio basic models. For the wired network connection, so I can share and transfer tivo recordings between tivo units.

Using WiFi only failed due to poor wifi speed between the tivo's, and a transfer of just one 2-hour movie took 12+ hours.

So I went Moca for the tivo's. I thought this Moca thing was only to add wired network to the tivo's. But that can also offer a solution for network to the entire house.

Using Moca into a gigabyte network switch, can not only be used for the tivo, but any networked device with wired input. Computers, laptops, TV's, Xbox, PS4 gaming. It works for everything!

My ISP speed is 50 mbps, but using my routers wifi I was testing at 10 in rooms far away from the router.

Going wired gave me near the 50 my IPS provided.

I was considering having the whole house professionally hard wired for network connection throughout.

Then I tried using my MOCA output to my computer and tested at 40mbps. A lot snappier than the 10 I was getting using only wifi.

So I hooked a network switch to the MOCA out, and ran cable to the TV, computer, Tivo roamio, PS4, all devices in the room from the switch.

What a huge difference in speed.

And without the cost of professionally hard wiring the entire house.

I had believed Moca was just for the Tivo, since this was my first experience and knowledge of Moca.

Not any more.

Using Moca can supply high speed wired network to every networked device using the TV cable.

My little FYI.
