I had a Tivo back in the day when DirecTV first introduced its Tivo based STB. Unfortunately when I moved 10 years ago into our current house, I had to ditch DirecTV and in turn had to give up Tivo for a Moxi Box due to having no line of site. I never loved the Moxi, but it did the job so I just lived with it.
Well, yesterday the Moxi started acting up again and when I pulled my my Charter account, I realized I was paying nearly $50 for the DVR and 4 receivers. 24 hours later, I have a Tivo Roamio Plus and three Tivo Minis on the way. When I did the math, I cannot believe how quick the payback period is over renting cable equipment since a cablecard and Tuning Adapter only runs $2/month. I wish I had realized this sooner as I cannot believe the savings.
Man I am looking forward to getting the great interface back.
