Transition from Premiere to Roamio

I took advantage of TiVo's "Holiday Deal" and bought a Roamio Basic Lifetime that will be replacing my original Premiere -- which has kinda spooked me by rebooting for no good reason several times in the last month -- while I'm watching it!



Any tips for transitioning my Tivo activities and recordings from the Premiere to the Roamio?



I discovered I can transfer all the Season Passes from my Premiere to the Roamio through the Tivo.com website. That tool will save lots of time, but what about the recordings themselves?



I have an external WD 1TB extender on the Premiere, and I understand I can't just plug it into the Premiere and take recordings with it. Is my only option to manually transfer the recordings from the Premiere to the Roamio over the network? (They'll both be hard-wired Ethernet.)



Or, (simpler, but slower) I guess I can keep the Premiere turned on (for as long as it lives) and gradually empty it as I watch-and-delete my backlog of recordings on it...but keeping track of which TiVo has which programs on it is going to get messy...especially as the new Roamio starts building up a library of newer recordings.



Complicating things more...I have a 2nd Premiere that I used when I had recording conflicts on my main Premiere. Now I'll have THREE Tivos to search when I'm trying to find a recording and trying to figure out where I'm at in my season pass recordings!



Anyone have any suggestions? Is there a "bulk" way to transfer recordings from one Tivo to another? Can you copy entire folders at a time? Or just a single recording at a time? *uggghh*..
