I am deploying several Minis in my home and creating a MoCa network from my Romio Plus. I am concerned that the wiring in my home may not be very suitable for MoCa. Despite being less than 25' from Comcast hub for my neighborhood, a Comcast tech at one point installed a signal amplifier (ASKA AM1G-202) at my POE. I then had a home extension done that added a home-run from the POE that also has an amp on it (RCA DT100M). Finally, the master bedroom where I want to install one of the Minis is on a loop, and required another amp (Rocketfish RF-G1179) to get DT signal.
I believe I have the following coming out of the POE:
- one home run serving a downstairs den
- one home run serving the upstairs office
- one loop serving downstairs living room, and THREE upstairs bedrooms
I am concerned about removing the ASKA amp since Comcast installed it. Should I have Comcast come back out and install a proper MoCa-capable amp? Or should I tackle this myself? Or hire a cable wiring contractor?
