Hardwired Apple Airport Issues

I recently purchased an Apple Airport Time Capsule. My Roamio will hook up to it wirelessly perfectly. It shows all ports open. The problem comes when I try to hook up to it by ethernet, which I need to do as all the other tivos in my house are connected through this one by moca. I spent lots of time on the phone with TiVo until they claimed there were ports not opened, and I would have to figure out how to open them on my own. While investigated that it miraculously connected....only to lost the connection later in the afternoon. I am at my wits end, and would appreciate any suggestions.
