TivoHD, lifetime service, 2 TB HDD which is hmm... ? 2..3 years old now ?
Tivo has been working fairly well for its age, maybe hung and needed power cycle once a months..
Then end Aug beginning of September, it pulled in 11.0n and IMHO works noticeably worse than it ever did before:
- Remote becomes unresponsive for maybe up to two minutes. TV continues to play though.
- Ping of IP address fails for minutes at a time.
- Worst: HTTP downloads from tivo are not reliable anymore, but fail after randomn, rather short amounts, 100MByte... 800 MByte. At that time also ping does not work anymore.
i will definitely check the HDD by putting it on PC, run SMART, copy whole disk content and back checking every sector etc.. Thats what made the Tivo fail in the past (this is probably the 3rd HDD, TivoHD is > 8 years old). But previously when disks expired, i never had failure of ping, remote or the like, so its strangely different.
Is this errror behavior anyhow indicative of failing power supply ? What specifically would i look for ? (except for capacitor bulge..).
Any known issues like this with 11.0n ?
Is there btw any way to restart an HTTP download... guess not, maybe i am overlooking some HTTP option... ?
Thanks so much!
Around Aug/Sep, Tivo was pulling in 11.0n and has been acting noticeably wor
