Help and old man with using any Tivo without cable card

I am retired and live in a resort community. They provide 100 channels of free cable tv including Hbo. My problem is it hooks directly to the tv so it doesn't use a converter box. Whats strange is for the heck of it I tried to setup my roamio and of course it didn't work but during the setup it actually listed my resort as a cable provider. I am lost without my Tivo as I have used them since the original series 1. Are there any older Tivos that will record digital tv without a cable card that might work in my situation.
