MoCA Encryption and MoCA Channel Setting Question

What is the benefit to using a MoCA encryption key on the host and is there a downside? What about the "channel" MoCA uses?

I have a PoE filter installed at entry to my apartment before a two way splitter. One split feeds my living room and from the living room wall is on a three way splitter. One to my Cable Modem (Arris SB6183), one to the Cable In on my TWC/Spectrum Tuning Adapter (Cisco STA 1520), and one to the Cable In on my Bolt 1TB. TA connected by USB obviously. Don't trust the pass through on the TA, so I have the three way split as suggested by TiVo's site.

2nd split after PoE Filter goes to my bedroom where I have an RF TiVo Mini connected by MoCA. The Bolt is hardwired Cat 5e/6 to my router (ASUS RT-AC68W--gotta match the modem and the Bolt--wonder if TWC would mind me painting the TA white?)

Anywho my downlink is 300Mpbs and uplink is 20Mpbs.

The Mini works like a charm. I use a rather long (12 digit) MoCA encryption code set on the Bolt and configured on the Mini. I let both set the MoCA channel to Auto. It seems to always choose Channel 15.

Is there an optimal Channel setting for MoCA? Does encryption with MoCA matter whether I have the PoE filter or not?

I guess I am just geeking out. Humor me. I just wonder why TiVo offers you to set an encryption key.
