I thought there was already a thread for this, but nothing came up.
Several notable points for the show so far...
1. There's been a couple of rescues. The one involving Elliot was interesting. I know they MUST assist if possible, but I wonder if Elliot would have put quite so much effort in if it wasn't his friend on the Arctic Hunter.
Sadly, in this week's episode, while rescuing another fishing boat, one of the Coast Guard guys received a 'serious head injury', of which there was no explanation. However, at the end of the hour, there was a memorial service for him, so the injury was actually fatal. Kudos to those guys who can't decide not to work because it's raining or whatever and risk their lives just as surely as front-line soldiers do.
2. Looks like Junior will be risking a LOT if he returns to the Seabrooke. The surgery he had did not look pleasant and it sounded to me like he was being told that if he carries on fishing, he'll be in VERY serious trouble. He's pig-headed enough to go back out, but I hope he hires another captain and saves his future health!
3. Elliot is a prize d*ck. In other news, water is found to be wet!!
4. I think this is the first time in the history of the show that they've fished for Bairdi. The numbers and rewards seemed pretty low for the risk. Still, I guess I wouldn't turn down an extra $3-4.5k before Opie season.
5. The Cornelia Marie looks to be back next week and fishing for Opies! Good luck to the Harris boy(s). Hoping that another junkie has managed to turn it around.
