anti multiple connections at the same time

i was wondering if the tivo network has any kind of anti multiple connections at the same time from the same ip address or phone number.



everyone knows for example if you try to make 2 or more connections to an irc server via even multiple clients from the same ip address you will get a message saying other irc clients are connected.



same goes for if you try to login multiple times to some sites.



is there something similar on the tivo network?



i have 2 tivo boxes and if box 1 has called in then box 2 calls in does the server refuse the connection or say there is another tivo box connected?



i am noticing 1 box connects ok but the other is still getting the exclamation point when i hit the tivo button.





a suggestion: if the tivo network only uses the ip address or phone number to identify the connection please also use the box's serial number for additional identification and allow both boxes to connect.



or allow the boxes to communicate with each other and copy the update packets from the other boxes.
