Tivo Mini and Moca

I just got my Tivo and Tivo Mini. The tech (Suddenlink) had trouble getting the two units to talk to each other on my home network. He then installed the Moca device and it was able to get it to work. During the time that he was setting is up, I noticed an IP setting in my router that was wrong, I corrected that and I think that is why it would not work before.

My question is, is there an advantage to connecting one way vs. the other way (Moca Vs. ethernet)? The reason I ask is, that I spent a lot of time and trouble installing the ethernet cables in my house and now with the Moca box, they are unneeded.

Also, can I change the Tivo network settings from Moch to ethernet to check to see if it will work? Or would that just be asking for trouble?

Thanks and sorry if this question has bee asked before. I'm new here.
