Scenario:
1. With TV off, every buttonpress on the peanut lights the yellow light on the TiVo. (i.e., it's receiving the signal from the peanut.)
2. I switch on the TV (a Sharp (brand) LCD flatscreen). The TV responds to commands from the peanut (VOL UP/DOWN, INPUT, etc.) but the TiVo does NOT, and the yellow light does not blink.
3. After 3-4 minutes the TiVo becomes intermittently responsive to the peanut.
4. After 6-7 minutes the TiVo is fully responsive to the peanut.
I believe the signals from the peanut are on IR (infra-red light), and I wondered if perhaps the TV was somehow emitting spurious IR, so I tried viewing it through a digital camera's viewfinder (which can "see" IR) but none was visible.
The problem is only in the nature of an annoyance, but I'd like to overcome it. TIA for any ideas.
